Timacuan was created in 1987 by noted golf course architect Ron Garl, and updated a few years ago by course designer Bobby Weed. The result is one of those rare golf courses that truly offers a fair and interesting challenge to golfers at every level. Timacuan features five sets of tees, playing to 7,000 yards from the tips but also offering many less intimidating options, including a layout of less than 5,000 yards from the forward tees. It is a magnificent championship course ranked 14th Best in the State.
The course winds through beautiful lakes and wooded areas. The rolling front nine is links-style with deep pot bunkers. The back nine is lined heavily with tall pines. Timacuan has the look and feels like a private club, from the highly respected 7,000 yard golf course to the 24,000 square foot clubhouse. The Club offer all the golf amenities you expect from a fine golf club - full club charging privileges, private lockers, members' lounges, USGA handicaps, and for those who live in the Timacuan community, even the opportunity to have your own private golf cart. Zach Johnson, the 2007 Masters Champion is a regular at the driving range and on the course.
